Learn to Play

Hockey Learn to Play is the next step in the development of our future Hockey Stars.

Players will continue to refine their skating skills while learning various stick and puck skills through the use of small area drills and games in the cross ice model.

Fundamental skills of puck control, passing, and shooting will be taught in a fun and challenging environment. Classes conclude with 15-20 minutes of cross ice games!

Hockey Star 1

Players will continue their development starting with V and crossover starts, forward and backward crossover glides, forward and backward crossovers on a circle, and left and right hockey stops with speed. Progressions will include the addition of a puck to each skill.

Hockey Star 2

Hockey Star 2 will introduce players to the principles of Power Skating and will emphasize powerful backward C cuts, forward and backward alternating crossovers, power turns, forward and backward lateral pivots, and forward and backward fast stops and quick starts.

Skaters enrolled in Hockey Stars classes will train two days a week.
